Blanc de Tronquoy (Bordeaux)

Media Reviews

Jane Anson

Translucent yet vibrant pale gold colour. This builds in intensity, unusually round volume and weight for the vintage, with structure and concentration, and an edge of white pepper spice together with a gentle rinse of sweet citrus and apricot pit. Integral vinification in barrel, with lees stirring. 1.8ha of vines, 14 years old, planted at almost 10,000 vines/ha on clay gravel soils, producing 65hl/h yield in this vintage. In organic conversion. 94 points

Yohan Castaing

The Tronquoy 2023 Blanc, a blend of 51% Semillon and 49% Sauvignon Gris, exhales aromas of pear, white flowers and white fruits. Round, supple and medium-bodied, it’s charming and enveloping with a delicate, juicy core of fruit that concludes into a fresh, long and mineral finish. 90-92 points

Antonio Galloni

The 2023 Blanc is quite rich and textured in this vintage. The blend is 51% Semillon and 49% Sauvignon Gris, with the Semillon very much driving the wine`s textural feel. Lemon confit, marzipan, mint, dried flowers. spice and white pepper all build. 90-92 points

The 2023 Tronquoy-Lalande Blanc has a pretty, floral bouquet, though it needs just a little more delineation, the Sauvignon Gris (yes, Gris) perhaps denuding it a little complexity. The palate is well balanced with a fine texture, revealing notes of lime and orange zest and touches of mango and passion fruit. It`s quite poised toward the finish. Delightful. 89-91 points
