N.V. Filey Bay Flagship single malt 46%

Our first ever English whisky, from the farm-to-dram Spirit of Yorkshire distillery. The ability to use their own barley puts them ahead of many Scotch distilleries, as they mill, mash, ferment, distil, mature and bottle on site. Matured in ex bourbon casks, their Filey Bay Flagship is creamy, honyed, fruity and grassy, with a lovely smoothness of flavour that comes with a textural richness on the palate. If we were to characterise this in terms of Scotch we`d say `Lowland`, but really we need a new category of whisky - Yorkshire seaside. (NT 15/07/26)
