N.V. Clydeside Napier 46% (Lowland)

Clydeside is a gleaming new distillery in the heart of Glasgow’s former industrial docklands. Tim Morrison is whisky industry royalty, and he dreamt of reviving the distilling of malt whisky in the city of Glasgow. When he discovered that his great-grandfather had had a hand in building the Queen’s Dock where the distillery now stands, he knew he had found his site. And Napier is named after Robert Napier, ‘the father of Clyde shipbuilding’, who once built steamships here. This lovely Lowland whisky has been matured for over 6 years in Oloroso sherry casks, and that has brought a richness and spiced depth to its natural grassy, malty character. (NT 09/07/26)
