The 2025 Gruner Veltliner Hinter der Burg comes from the deep brown soils at the foot of the Seiberberg, stretching behind Weissenkirchen Castle. Yeastiness is foremost on the youthful nose, which shows woodruff, ripe Conference pear, fresh green pear peel and an almost floral note of linden flower. The palate follows with slenderness and svelte fill, combining ripeness and juicy freshness, all carried by a yeasty base. It is rounded, beautifully compact and concentrated, with a proper heart and core. 91 points
