Jane Anson
A healthy, sculpted balance of citrus, elderflower blossom, slate and cloves. This is enjoyable, with lift while still concentrated and on estate signature. 30% new oak for ageing, in 400l barrels. 40hl/ha yield. There is no Bouscaut red this year, by the way, because the Merlot was badly impacted by mildew. Instead they are releasing a Fragments of Bouscaut in bottle, a blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. 93 points
Yohan Castaing
Due to a mildew invasion affecting the red grapes, particularly the Merlots, Chateau Bouscaut produced only a white wine this year. The 2023 Bouscaut Blanc reveals a delicate, perfumed bouquet of confit citrus, white peach, lime tree leaves and spring flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, seamless and generous palate with bright acids, a fleshy core of fruit and a long, mouthwatering finish. This is a blend of 41% Semillon and 59% Sauvignon Blanc. 90-92 points
Antonio Galloni
The 2023 Bouscaut Blanc is terrific. Hints of passion fruit, tangerine peel and spice confer an exotic, tropical feel that plays off the wine`s creamy, resonant textures. This is quite pretty, not to mention impeccable in its balance. 90-92 points
