71% Sauvignon/29% Semillon. 12.3% Alcohol Yield: 42 hL/ha. Ageing: 8% New oak. Intense notes of lemon, mandarin, white flower and patisserie, and a touch of korma spice. Very high energy in the mouth, with a zesty attack, a waxy, rich mid-palate and an intense, persisitent finish. A remarkable white wine. (NT 31/05/22)

2021 Cos d`Estournel Blanc (Bordeaux)

Media Reviews

William Kelley

Including fully 29% Sémillon, the 2021 Cos d`Estournel Blanc is a terrific effort from holdings in the northern Médoc. Offering up aromas of confit citrus, crisp orchard fruit, lime zest, pastry cream and freshly braked bread, it`s medium to full-bodied, layered and incisive, with chalky structuring dry extract and a penetrating finish. There`s no question that it`s one of the Médoc`s most interesting white wines. 91-93+ points

Antonio Galloni

The 2021 Cos d`Estournel Blanc is fabulous. In fact, the 2021 is one of the finest vintages I can remember tasting. Readers will find a white of tremendous stature and sheer palate presence. Lemon oil, chamomile, pear, baked apple tart and light tropical accents are all amplified in this dramatic, racy white from Cos d`Estournel. I can`t wait to taste this in bottle. 93-95 points

Neal Martin

The 2021 Cos d`Estournel Blanc, bottled in December 2022, shows a bit of reduction in the glass, with touches of candle wax and lanolin infusing the yellow fruit, perhaps requiring a little more delineation. The palate is well-balanced with fine poise. This clearly has more tension and mineralite compared to the Pagodes Blanc, with a crisper finish. This is a successful white Cos d`Estournel that should age well in bottle, but one should afford it time for the aromatics to fully open. 92 points
