Clos Rougemont is a small monopole vineyard close to Tours, planted on pure limestone soil. It`s pure Chenin Blanc, vinified in barrel (with only a very small proportion of new oak). A dense, intense Vouvray that will benefit from time in a fridge door decanter... or feel free to leave the open bottle in your fridge door for the best part of a week. Notes of apple, fennel, chamomile, grass and honey, with a grippy, serious texure. This is absolutely excellent at its price point - but then the Loire is often a source of fabulous, undervalued wines. (NT 30/09/24)
