Apart from being a highly-regarded Chateauneuf-du-Pape producer, Roger Sabon also has superb labels from some of the surrounding appellations. His Cotes-du-Rhone is always a brilliant value that can blow some more expensive wines out of the water. It`s mainly Grenache, with a bit of Syrah and Cinsault, and brings meaty, earthy notes to the generous, briary fruit. Tannins are relatively low, which makes this an immediate wine of pleasure, and it will leave you wondering why you aren`t buying more from the Rhone. (NT 24/09/24)
