Media Reviews

Anne Krebiehl MW

Leonard Humbrecht planted the vines for Riesling of Clos Häuserer in 1973. The clos is at the bottom of the Hengst Grand Cru, on Oligocene limestone with clay, facing south on a gentle slope. Gentle reduction reveals a beautiful sunniness expressed as Mirabelle plum and ripe lemon. The palate is lithe, smooth, cool in its aspect and depth, serene, and snappier than the nose suggests. Gorgeous freshness and verve. Super clean-cut finish. (Bone-dry) 92 points
