2021 Bruna Grimaldi Barolo Camilla

Media Reviews

Monica Larner

The Bruna Grimaldi 2021 Barolo Camilla sources fruit from various sites, including Borzone, Raviole, Roere di Santa Maria, San Lorenzo di Verduno, Bricco Ambrogio and Badarina. The wine shows a lean appearance, and although the aromas are not too intense, it does offer a smooth texture with ripe plum and dark currant. You don`t get as much of the licorice here or the high tones, but you do get dried flowers and earthy sensations on this medium-plus Barolo. It offers an accessible style. This is a 28,000-bottle release. 92 points

Kerin O`Keefe

The 2021 Camilla is fragrant and all about finesse, with lovely aromas of violet, berry, spice and botanical herb. Savory and ethereally elegant, the palate offers cranberry, tart cherry, blood orange and star anise framed in taut, refined tannins. Bright acidity keeps it balanced and fresh. It’s already almost accessible but will also offer several years of pleasure. Drink 2026–2033. 92 points

Antonio Galloni

The 2021 Barolo Camila is a gorgeous, refined wine. Silky, floral and medium in body, the 2021 is all class. Lifted floral aromatics meld into a core of sweet red berry fruit, cedar, pipe tobacco, mint and dried flowers. Translucent and refined, the 2021 is terrific. Give the tannins a year or two to soften. 92 points
