2021 Antoniotti Bramaterra (Alto Piemonte)
Secondary Description
Nebbiolo, with small amounts of Croatina, Vespolina and Uva Rara, from one of the more northerly appellations in Piedmont. Pretty cherry-stone minerality on the aromas, with a cola note which carries through on the palate. Potent and delicious! (JH 13/11/2025)

Richard Baudains
Unravelling slowly, earthy, autumn leaf aromas make way for pot pourri and spices along with delicate touches of sour red berries. The palate has a refined, airy texture with a touch of the noble austerity of Nebbiolo in the tannins, but also great depth of flavour and a long finish of fantail aromatic complexity, with spicy notes of ginger and delicately mouthwatering sour fruit. A wine of huge natural appeal. 95 points

Seven generations have farmed vines here in Bramaterra`s volcanic soils, with the first vineyards purchased by the Antoniotti family in the 1860s. This wine is sourced from their older vines, which are around 50 years old. It`s a fragrant red with strawberry, raspberry and cherry fruits framed by fine-grained, sandy tannins. Vertical in shape and fresh and bright in nature, it has benefitted from long ageing in French oak. Lovely. 91 points
