2017 Jean Guiton Beaune Les Sizies

Secondary Description
The 2017 Beaunes Les Sizies 1er Cru is going to be bottled earlier than usual, in order to retain the freshness of the fruit. It has good, perfumed dark fruit on the nose. It`s already showing some complexity and with a bit of a graphite finish. Quite a bold wine, it`s long and has depth and matter. (CW 7/11/18)

The 2017 Beaune Les Sizies 1er Cru, also aged in 20% new oak, was cropped slightly lower than the Les Hauts Jarrons. It has a well-defined bouquet with pure red cherry, wild strawberry and subtle menthol aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, slightly grainy in texture with satisfying harmony if not enormous persistence on the finish. It should give a decade’s worth of drinking pleasure. 89 Points
