Roagna Barbaresco Faset

Antonio Galloni

The Barbaresco Faset makes its debut in the range in 2013. Intense spice and tobacco notes meld into dark red and cherry fruit in this wonderfully open-knit, expressive Barbaresco. Already quite supple, silky and giving, the 2013 will drink well with minimal cellaring. This is a terrific first vintage from Luca Roagna. Today, the Faset gives the impression it will age at a faster pace than is the norm for Roagna, but, as readers know, these wines can also stay at plateaus of maturity for many years. This small half-hectare plot yielded just 2,000 bottles. Roagna aged the 2013 in a single 15HL cask. 93 points
