Bourbon Hogshead then Glen Moray barrel
John Duff was a man with a mission, determined to start a whisky distillery in the New World. But he ruefully discovered the New World wasn’t too keen on its former colonial overlords, with both South Africa and then the USA both firmly showing him the door. So finally he packed for home, and in 1893 founded Longmorn Distillery back in Speyside. It thrives to this day. Young it may be, but this bottling is a delight, with mint and floral notes bringing extra complexity to the bounteous fruit notes. (NT 09/12/19)
