Les Vergers de la Moriniere
Calvados usually falls into one of two camps. Either it is so young and raw that it burns through your throat and gut, eventually requiring reconstructive surgery and confinement in a secure institution, or it is so old, it just tastes like mature Armagnac, nary a hint of apple remaining. This one is orchard fresh, yet aged smooth and rounded. You can still make a gentle `Trou Normand` with this, or savour after dinner from ballon. (CW 09/08/10)
