Jane Anson

White fruits, nectarine, plenty of character, peony petals and creamy white pear with star anise and liquorice root. Moriesh with pesonality. 92 points

One of the more compelling white wines in Bordeaux in recent years, the 2025 Blanc from Château de Fieuzal unfurls in the glass with an attractive bouquet of pear, white peach, spice, flowers and ripe orchard fruits. Medium- to full-bodied, layered and dense, it’s built around a fleshy, seamless core of fruit, framed by racy acidity that carries through to a long, mineral and precise finish. It`s a particularly successful rendition and among the more complete whites of the vintage. 93-95 points

The 2025 Chateau de Fieuzal Blanc was picked 17 to 25 August. This is quite understated on the nose and demands some coaxing, eventually revealing Granny Smith, Anjou pear and light sea spray scents. The palate is well balanced with a keen line of acidity. Lemon and orange pith notes, not amazingly complex, but I like the texture and there is ample freshness and weight on the finish. Fine. 89-91 points
