John Livingstone-Learmonth
(cask) dark red; the bouquet gives a purposeful aroma of tempting black cherry fruit, its sweet curve appealing, the fruit secure in rather stylish depth. The palate drinks freely from the off, carries really tasty fruit, prolongs on that basis into a juiced, sanded, lip smack finale. It’s a harmonious Cornas, flows easily, has a rounded shape, will be accessible from another two years or so. It doesn’t quite have its usual scale, mystery, scope. From mid-2027. ****
