John Livingstone-Learmonth
(cask) quite a full red colour; the nose serves a lightly floral, musky perfumed air of cooked red fruits, plums with a dose of cassis fruit, is a lightly sweet and easy start. The palate gives an uncomplicated glass of Cornas, is rather light alongside other Cornas of this vintage, gives a simply fruited, pretty immediate offer, carries some sanded tannins on the fruit gums style finish. It lacks a little ambition, can be drunk from 2027 without problem, is red-fruited, mild. It’s not one to sit on for long. ***(*)

The 2024 Cornas Granit 30 starts out showing enticing orange blossom, dried violets, spot-ripe black cherry and glimmers of raspberry. Medium-bodied and genuinely polished, the 2024 is showing well in these early days, expressing vivid freshness across the board, resolved smooth and refined. 90-92 points
