Back on form after a slight dip in 2023, this is a denser, more compact wine than its stablemate Seadragon that uses three different Dijon clones (113, 115 and 777). A wine that will reward cellaring, this has some granitic grip, rose petal and fynbos top notes, stylish wood and layers of plum, raspberry and black cherry. 96 points

The 2024 Pinot Noir Windansea comes from shallow clay soil in front of the winery, the vines around 20 years old. This has a more sophisticated and mineral-driven bouquet compared to the Seadragon. The oak (25% new) and the whole cluster (30%) are both neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, a little more plush in style, but there is decent backbone here with a dash of white pepper and clove towards the finish. This should mature well in bottle - a very fine Windansea. 91 points
