The latest in a run of very impressive Seadragon releases - stretching right back to the first vintage in 2015 - this shows the quality of a north-facing site on clay rich soils that`s entirely planted with the 113 clone. Ferrous, intense and energetic, it`s a world-class expression of Pinot Noir with aromas of saffron and rose petal, some clove spice from 20% whole bunches and layered flavours of red cherry, pomegranate and wild strawberry. A delight. 97 points

The 2024 Pinot Noir Seadragon comes from a single vineyard lower down from Windansea on deeper clayey soils, matured in 25% new oak for 11 months. This has a more floral bouquet with rose petals filtering through the red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit, showing more density than the Family cuvee. Bitter cherry and blood orange infuse the finish that lingers nicely. Not overtly complex but a pleasant, quite gutsy Pinot. 89 points
