The 2024 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru comprises three new barrels this year. Again, one must contend with reduction on the nose. The palate seems to just soak up a bit more of the new wood compared to the Aux Combottes or Les Carrieres although it does render the finish just a bit generic at the moment. It will need three or four years in bottle. 90-92 points

Mid purple, while the fruit exhibits a slightly greater sensuality on the nose, in softer strawberry fruit style. There is a saline touch here as well, with a firmer structure behind. From a 48 month aged fine-grained barrel. The Charmes will become pleasingly ‘digeste’ I think. 91-94 points
