Jane Anson
A step up in terms of concentration and structure, blackberry, cassis bud, raspberry leaf, slate, crayon, good stretch out through the palate, enjoyable. First full vintage in the new cellar here. Jose Sanfins director, Tristan Le Lous owner, 60% new oak, new winery fully completed as of this vintage. 92 points

The 2024 Cantenac Brown is a classic wine from the chateau. Even in this vintage, all the signatures are present. Opulent dark fruit, new leather, incense, cloves, new leather and chocolate are dialed up. Technical Director Jose Sanfins and his team did a terrific job capturing all the elements of the house style, which is about as strong a compliment as is possible in this vintage. The 2024 will be fascinating to taste in a vertical some years down the road. New oak is 60%. Tasted two times. 92-94 points
