Rapet’s Corton-Charlemagne vines are mostly within the En Charlemagne lieu-dit, with a section in the south west-facing Le Charlemagne heartland of the appellation. 30% of the Rapet vines are around 15 years old, 30% are 30 years old and 40% are over 50. (But with many of these planted on 161.49 rootstock, wholesale replanting may soon be necessary.) This cuvee enjoys an amazing honeyed intensity, and it is rich and dense in the mouth. Yet it is also very focussed, and it will certainly need some time to unwind. Powerful, but also very refined. (NT 23/12/24)

Jasper Morris MW
There are various ages of vine in the Rapet holding, with plantings in 1945 and 1950 plus 1980s and a 2018 plot. Mostly made in 350-litre barrels, plus one 12hl foudre, an egg, and a terracotta amphora. Lemon and lime, with some classic Charlemagne style fruit on the nose, a delicious lemon touch. The stones infuse the finish which is very persistent. 93-95 points
