A homage to Burgundy; a cool, shaded vineyard in the Vale de Mendiz, a field-blend which includes some white varieties. Waxy, creamy aromas - the wood is still evident on this young wine - with delicate red fruit beneath. Super-elegant, almost juicy on the palate, with dark fruit peaking through. Tannins are incredibly fine, almost imperceptible; this is a masterwork of low-extraction winemaking. This is an exquisite, subtle wine, for contemplation rather than for food. (JH 01/05/2025)
