Ready for bottling. 20% barrel this year, some new. A glowing lemon and lime colour. There is a strictness to the nose, along with the concentration of the vintage. Then more opulence starts to show, ripe lemons here. A future waxiness. The stones turn up at the back, as they should, and the sun-kissed lemons infiltrate the finish. This is going to be lovely. Drink from 2027-2032. Tasted: June 2023. 91-93 points

The 2022 Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru has a complex bouquet with touches of white peach and a muscat-like scent, very focused and seductive. The palate conveys energy and vigor with citrus fruit and hints of orange zest towards the persistent finish. Superb. 92-94 points
