The 2021 La Lagune put in a decent showing out of barrel. I tasted it from two bottles, the first rejected as it felt slightly corked. The second is fresher with blackberry and raspberry fruit, cedar and light cigar box scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a sapid entry, berry and graphite notes and some attenuation toward the finish. Nonetheless, it is a decent, classically styled La Lagune that will hopefully gain more weight with bottle age. 88 points
