The 2021 Lacima, a red from a six lieux-dits planted with Mencia and some other varieties, is quite expressive and showy, with some smoky undertones and a spicy twist, neatly integrated with ripe berry fruit and exotic herbs. It`s medium-bodied, with some creaminess and some fine and slightly dusty tannins. It has contained ripeness and alcohol, 13%, with mellow acidity. It had a long elevage of 21 months in used French oak barrels and another nine months in oak foudres. 5,021 bottles and 180 magnums produced. It was bottled in May 2024. 94 points
