The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers 1er Cru needs some coaxing from the glass, eventually revealing lemon sherbet and orange zest aromas, just a touch of marzipan in the background. The palate is clean and precise, the new oak is neatly integrated with a harmonious and poised finish with blood orange notes on the aftertaste. Attractive pale lemon. Lively fresh grape nose, more fruit than wine and this follows through on the palate too with excellent balance and length. Harmonious, successful. 91-93 points
