Fuller and firmer than I was expecting, with plum, chocolate and liquorice; there`s a sweetness to the fruit, but no suggestion it is overripe or hot. Supple tannins, smooth and creamy texture. Probably at its best 5-10 years after vintage. (NT 07/06/20)

Carefully extracted and well-balanced cassis fruits with attractive dark pepper and rosemary spices running through the palate. This has tons of Médoc signature, controlled tannins and fresh acidities, earthy touches stop it feeling overly polished. 90 points

The 2019 Beaumont impresses on the nose with intense blackberry and briary aromas, sous-bois and tobacco, all whilst maintaining its delineation. The palate is supple and silky on the entry. There is well judged acidity, plenty of cedar and seaweed, tinged black fruit and a spicy finish. Now, this is a bloody great Beaumont. 91-93 points
