This cuvée is also carrying some as-yet unfermented sugar at the moment, about 3.5 g/l says François, but again the expectation is that this will be completely dry once the yeasts have finally finished their work. The aromatics here are fresh and perfumed, broad and pretty, with apricot and citrus blossom character. This is matched by a scented and really quite charming palate, one which carries plenty of fruit, a nice phenolic substance, with an appealing bitter edge and a balanced if not strident acidity. Good potential here. 92-94 points

The 2018 Montlouis Choisilles is a blend from the Les Epinais, La Taille aux Loups and Clos au Renard lieu-dits. Dry and bracing in the glass, with tremendous energy, the Choisilles is beautifully delineated, with sweet floral notes and bright acids that round things out so well. Citrus confit, white flowers, chamomile and crushed rocks lead into the sculpted finish. 93 points
