Showing an immediately ripe and saturated quality of fruit, the 2015 Barolo San Lorenzo di Verduno is a child of the warm 2015 vintage. The bouquet leaves you no doubt. This wine offers a rich and exuberant approach with dark fruit nuances that cede slowly to spice, tar and black licorice. This Barolo shows depth and dark fruit, both in abundance. The quality of the tannins is still a bit rigid and less integrated at this young stage in the wine`s life. You`ll need to wait longer to truly enjoy these results. 94 points

The 2015 Barolo San Lorenzo is dark, powerful and heady, with striking fruit intensity and creaminess. In 2015, the San Lorenzo is not quite as hulking or virile as it can be, but it still carries a good bit of heft. I find the 2015 unusually open today, but it also appears to have a good bit of underlying structure. It will be interesting to see where the 2015 ends up after bottling. 89-92 points

Pale-medium garnet. Introvert, fudgy nose, with dark-chocolate and spice hints. Rich palate of intense, dense red- and black-cherry fruit, with lots of power, spice and focus. Firm to high, compact, fine tannins. Give it time and it’ll be rather fine. 17+ points
