The 2014 Nebbiolo d`Alba Valmaggiore is quite pretty. Sweet floral aromatics meld into tobacco, dried cherry, licorice, mint and pine in a finely-knit, sensual wine that captures the essence of this well-known Roero site. Readers who enjoy wines with aromatic development may want to cellar the 2014 for at least a few years. Today, the natural brightness of the vintage and the primary fruit of Nebbiolo are very much front and center. 90 points
