2014 La Conseillante (Pomerol)

Fabulous wine. La Conseillante has a very aromatic, red plum nose - pronounced, with a tidy graphite edge. It has enormous drive and energy from the perfect acidity and mineral freshness. The tannins are supple and very fine. The finish seems to last until after we have left the orchid adorned cellar. Magnificent stuff and super drinking. (CW 01/04/15)

Truffles and dark chocolate with dark fruits on the nose. Round and nicely filling, bright and buzzy, not tangy as the fruit and acidity isn`t sharp or too high, this has a good sense of fun and easy enjoyment to it. Tannins are grippy and slightly salty and this has a lovely energy and focus to it. Not the most layered or plush but this has definite charm and a really easy drinability to it! Lovely. Drink today to enjoy but could be aged further. Drink 2024-2038. 95 points

The 2014 La Conseillante has a wonderful bouquet with wild strawberry, cranberry, wilted rose petal, salted licorice and violet-like aromas. As I wrote previously, it gains intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with finely chiseled tannins and a keen line of acidity, the new oak now entirely subsumed with a precise and reasonably persistent finish. Tasted at Bordeaux Index`s 10-Year-On tasting. 92 points
