The 2014 Vosne-Romanée Villages has more fruit intensity than the Chambolle at this stage with lively strawberry and red cherry scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, good substance here for a village cru with a touch of spice on the finish. Perhaps a little conservative but hey, it is a village cru and it will do absolutely fine. 87-89 points

A moderately spicy and ultra-fresh nose exhibits notes of both red and black pinot fruit along with background hints of sandalwood and tea. There is yet again an attractive sense of vibrancy to the well-detailed middle weight flavors that possesses a mild edginess on the slightly clipped finish. I would note that there is quite a bit of gas present which makes this rather difficult to read with precision. 86-89 points
