2014 Henri Gouges Nuits Clos des Porrets
Secondary Description
The 2014 Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges 1er cru Clos des Porrets St-Georges has very good definition - completely ripped as they say in some circles. There is plenty of bright fruit and and mineral and the wine finishes well and long. (CW 05/11/15)

The 2014 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Porrets Saint Georges, a monopole of the domaine, has a crisp leafy bouquet with autumn leaves and touches of flint coming through with aeration. The palate is well balanced with fine tannin, a certain brightness to the fruit here - resolutely "classic" in style, a "cool" NSG but with very fine delineation on the finish. Not a long-term proposition perhaps, but a well-crafted drop of wine that will repay time in the cellar. 90-92 points

(a 3.5 ha monopole with 30+ year old vines). Once again reduction dominates. By contrast there is a really lovely freshness and vibrancy to the intense and focused middle weight plus flavors that culminate in a powerful, rustic and beautifully persistent finish. This is a classic Nuits that is going to require close to a decade to be approachable and should reward 12 to 15 years of cellaring. 90-93 points

A monopoly holding of 4 hectares chez Gouges, this comes from a single block with 15 `s ub-parcels`, according to Grégory Gouges. It’s floral and perfumed, with subtle oak, some Nuits grunt and sinewy tannins and plenty of savoury, spicy red fruits. Drink 2019-28. 95 points
