Stephen Tanzer
(60% new oak; Dugat owns 2.5 hectares of vines here, making this his largest cuvée). Healthy deep red. Pure aromas of blackberry, licorice and violet. Juicy and sharply delineated, with the black fruit flavors complicated by an element of smoky torrefaction. Nicely balanced, linear village wine with good length. (Dugat`s Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes was still finishing its malolactic fermentation in November.) 88-91 points
