2009 Jean Grivot Nuits-St-Georges Boudots

No herbicide used here at all as the soil needs the balance of cover crops and to be in harmony for the quality of wine. On average this is the oldest vineyard they own. Commenting on this wine, Etienne remarked that he doesn`t like big, flamboyant wines.
This retains its freshness very well, it`s mineral, has good fruit and brilliant tannins with little trace of oak. (CW 03/11/10)

Sarah Marsh

Dark, sumptuous and rich, more prune on the aroma. The palate is sweet on the attack, rounded, thicker tannis, generous and full. Creamier and broader. Good tension behind this too. The finish is thick and long with notes of chocolate. Gorgeous. Fine. From 2016

Allen Meadows

(from 70+ year old vines). In 2009, the nose is more Vosne than Nuits with ample amounts of spice to the liqueur of cassis and red cherries that gives way to highly complex, intense and concentrated medium weight plus flavors that culminate in a rich, suave and superbly long finish. While the tannins are not quite as fine as those of the Roncières, they are finer than usual and overall, this is really quite classy. 91-94 points
