2008 Glenburgie, AD Rattray 10 yo 59.8% Spey

From the Findhorn corner of Speyside (near Forres where Macbeth met the witches), Glenburgie has been producing whisky legally since 1829, and probably rather less legally since around 1810. It’s a surprise to me that this is only the second ‘Burgie ever to grace our shelves, since it has shone in a few independent bottlings that have crossed my path. Exhibiting rich, sweet notes with a citrus top end, this hogshead shows why ‘Burgie makes up the heart of the Ballatine’s blend. (NT 24/06/19)
