Neal Martin
The 2008 de Fieuzal has an attractive bouquet with blackberry, gravel and cedar aromas, quite energetic after a decade with satisfying delineation. The oak here is very well enmeshed. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin, clean and poised with well judged acidity. It is not the most complex Bordeaux on the block and it would benefit from a little more fleshiness towards the finish. However, there is tension and energy in situ and it should drink well for another seven or eight years. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 10-Year On tasting. 90 points
