Poised, elegant, beautiful, there’s a panoply of complexity to this bottling that you can only get in properly mature whisky. Inchgower is a fairly classic central Speyside distillery, dating back to the 19th century, though it`s had a fair few modernising refits since then. You won`t see many bottlings, so this is a treat. Think Armagnac and leather armchairs, camphor, spice and dried orange peel. There’s even a touch of fino sherry that segues towards amontillado with a splash of water. Stunning. (13/12/18)
