Bourbon cask
In the small Highland town of Rothes you`ll find Glen Grant. It`s a pretty convenient location for a distillery, on the banks of the River Spey, amid fields of barely and with ports not too far away. It was founded in the 1840s by the two entrepeneurial brothers John and James Grant, and its history since then is one of expansion, changes of hands, mergers and amalgamations. Not to mention success, and global branding - over the years, Glen Grant has prospered. This bottling is in quite a nutty style, nicely balanced, and when a bit of air and water get to it there is some lovely complexity. (NT 21/11/16)
