While the festive season brings with it work parties and nights out aplenty, the most eagerly anticipated aspect of the festive period must surely be that warm, fuzzy feeling induced by the gathering of friends and loved ones around the dinner table. Both the homely comforts of Christmas Eve supper and the prolonged, sumptuous banquet of Christmas lunch certainly call for some decent drinking material. The delights of baked ham, roast turkey and Brussel sprouts are taken to another level in the company of a velvety rich claret or a toasty, appley Chenin Blanc.
