Alicante
Vermut is Spain`s take on Vermouth. This sweet red vermut from the Luis XIV cellars begins as you would expect, fermented (in this case from Macabeo grapes), then infused with the classic wormwood together with cinnamon, cloves, vanilla and orange peel. It is fortified to 15%. Then comes the twist, as it is blended with a small amount of old, oxidised Monastrell and then aged for two months in ancient Fondillon barrels. Quirky, intense, and packed with character. (NT 22/03/22)
