Light yellow. Fresh pear and honeysuckle aromas are complemented by ginger, honey and toasty lees. Dry and precise, offering energetic orchard and citrus fruit flavors and a hint of anise that gains strength with air. Finishes toasty and long, with resonating spiciness and a suave floral quality. I also tried a bottling of this wine with a second lot number (L13 276 10 10 11) and found it of similar quality but somewhat more taut, showing a greater emphasis on bitter citrus pith and a hint of white pepper. 91 points

An elegant, pure and beautifully complex nose offers up plenty of floral character along with white orchard fruit and citrus scents. There is enough yeast character to notice on the lively middle weight flavors where the supporting mousse is firm but not aggressive, all wrapped in a crisp but not austere finish that displays ample citrus influence. This delicious effort could be enjoyed now or held for a few years first if desired. 91 points
