2024 Niepoort Redoma Branco (Douro)

The 2024 Redoma Branco is already sold out; even though it`s a fairly large production, the demand is very high, especially in Portugal, so it`s a wine that sells out very quickly. Half of the wine leaves the winery as soon as it`s bottled. 2024 is quite similar to 2023, perhaps with easier fermentations - more nitrogen available for the wines, more nutrients - all indigenous, and the wine is more relaxed, perhaps a little rounder. Maybe the word for the 2024 whites is `pretty.` It`s always aged in very well-seasoned, 228- and 500-liter barrels, so there is a spicy and smoky hint, with a core of dry flowers and herbs, a little Burgundian if you like. It`s very tasty. 66,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2025. 93 points
