Jane Anson
Well-judged balance between floral aromatics and berry fruit, and a smoky grilled cedar wave of oak, has a cheerful vibrant violet edge to the colour, but the acditiy cuts things off on the finish. 35% new oak for ageing. Harvest from the 24th of September. No chaptilisation, 35hl/h yield, which is low for them but pretty good within the vintage. 86 points
Antonio Galloni
The 2024 La Tour de By is laced with blackberry, chocolate, spice and copious sweet oak. It shows good depth, but a slightly oxidative note in the bouquet suggests this sample is less than perfect. 85-88 points
Neal Martin
The 2024 La Tour de By has a light bouquet with brambly red fruit giving way to touches of tobacco and mocha. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly crunchy tannins, but there is an appealing classicism to this Medoc with freshness on the finish. Enjoy over five to six years. 86-88 points
