Jane Anson

Grippy tannic frame from the start, this is pared back, confident, careful progression through the palate, limestone austerity a touch of lemongrass and fragrant tomato leaf alongside the vivid red and black cherry fruits, slim and savoury but with finesse. The Bich family continues to impress here. First certified organic vintage. 92 points

The 2024 Chateau de Ferrand has a high-toned bouquet with blueberry and cassis scents, although this is missing complexity and terroir expression. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy blackberry and cedar notes, but it feels a bit ‘solid’ on the finish and misses some fruit concentration. Hopefully it will flesh out a bit in barrel. 88-90 points
