Neal Martin
The 2023 Chardonnay Newton Johnson Family Vineyards is a blend of southern- and northern-slope fruit. Raised for 11 months in barriques (28% new), this has a tightly honed, tense, more mineral-driven bouquet than the Southend cuvee. The palate is fresh, brisk and quite saline with lime and orange rind, nicely focused with a persistent finish. This is a very fine Chardonnay that will give a decade of drinking pleasure. Chiseled and vibrant. 92 points
