Grip and length, grilled campfire smoke, slate texture, nuanced blueberry and raspberry fruits, cold ash and pumice stone. West exposure for the slopes here means cooler temperatures and lower ph, fresh acidities, helps accentuate this oyster shell salinity. 94 points

The 2023 Moulin Saint-Georges emerges from a small, 7-hectare property in front of Ausone. The richer side of the year comes through in the wine`s dark blue/purplish fruit profile, lavender, licorice and spice notes. There`s a bit of tannin here, but élevage should help this come together. The Moulin Saint-Georges includes 100% new oak, quite a statement of intent at this level. 90-93 points

The 2023 Moulin Saint-Georges was picked from September 21 to 29 and matured for 18 months in new oak. The élevage shapes this Saint-Émilion nicely. It’s a little woody at first, but that dissipates nicely with a few swirls of the glass, revealing a refreshing, marine-influenced bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth entry, quite a sensual and fleshy Moulin Saint-Georges, though the new oak is quite vocal and dominates the finish. There’s good potential here, but I would like more terroir to come through once in bottle. 90-92 points
