From two fine plots: La Justice (on the wrong side of the road, but nevertheless on a stray vein of limestone) and Les Seuvrees (by Morey). Les Seuvrees brings elegance, while La Justice offers muscularity. This is big, vivid, and fruit-driven, full of red and black cherry notes. But it drives along to a nice contrast on the finish, where all the sapidity kicks in. A fine balancing act in an excellent village cuvee. (NT 12/12/24)

The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a bright and expressive bouquet, an equal offering of red and black fruit, touches of sous-bois and light tobacco notes. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. It is not powerful or complex—a refined and `laid back` Gevrey-Chambertin that should drink earlier than the 2022. 88-90 points

A brisk ruby purple. The nose is very reductive. Extremely dense red and black fruit, quite concentrated on the palate, a little touch of blackcurrant at the back. There is a sense of a fairly concentrated 2023 here, but the reduction needs to fade out of the picture. If it does, the score would be upgraded to the upper part of the bracket. 88-92 points
